I appreciate your kind review of the work being done in my 8th grade classroom. As you mentioned in your post here, one of the biggest obstacles preventing greater integration of technology into the classroom is not the lack of skills on the part of our students, but rather the lack of skills amongst teachers and educators to take advantage of the media for the purposes of their instruction. It does take a large investment of time to learn and adapt to these new technologies and many will resist the change simply for that reason. Others will resist the change because they will continue to view computers more as an entertainment tool rather than a learning tool. All I can say is that from my experience as a History teacher, I am doing what I believe to be the best teaching of my career. It's not because technology took over my class, but rather it allowed me to enhance my pedagogical instruction and and as a result, my students are learning with more depth and understanding.
